Sales of Electric Vehicles are increasing rapidly and the growth is set to continue.

‘Range Anxiety’ is a key consideration i.e. How far can a vehicle travel on a full charge? Where’s the next charging point located? How long is it going to take to charge before I’m back on the road?

Electric charging facilities are key to the uptake of EV’s and to support the existing  EV driver.

Any commercial site with car parking space should be seriously investigating providing EV charging facilities for staff and customers alike.  Like Wi-Fi, would we choose to stay in a hotel with no Wi-Fi? In the future will we be prepared to go to the supermarket, coffee shop or cinema leaving our cars non-charging? Probably not.

Having no EV charging point may deter customers from visiting your establishment in favour of the competitor across the road offering EV charging.

In summary, Electrical Capacity is the key to providing EV charging. Whether it’s spare capacity from your existing supply point, or investing  in a dedicated EV charging supply point. The amount of capacity available determines how many chargers can be installed and what type of charger can be installed e.g. high capacity / high powered chargers for quick charging or lower capacity chargers for top ups or extended charging periods .
